Your Cozy Hammock Hot Tent Getaway

Customers praised this lightweight hot tent for being "roomy" and offering "great value." The 210T polyester material is waterproof and windproof. Setup requires poles and patience, especially solo. Instructions need improvement and stakes are insufficient. The stove jack works well for winter camping, keeping users warm in freezing temps. Great ventilation with mesh windows/doors.

Roomier Than Expected

Only had the chance to use it once, but I'm really happy with it so far. With the stove running, it got warm enough inside that I was comfortable in just a T-shirt, even with temperatures down to 15 degrees outside. There's plenty of room, and I haven't found anything comparable at this price. Setting it up alone takes some patience, but taking it down is pretty simple. Overall, great value for the money, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The instructions are basically pointless, because they are not easy to follow at all. Not all stakes are present either

Sorry about the confusing instructions and the missing stakes. You can search “REDCAMP hot tent” on YouTube to find our full setup video, which should be much easier to follow.

This tent can be set up in several different ways, and many users in the community have shared their own setups. If this is your first time using it, please feel free to tell me how you plan to set it up and I’ll do my best to help. I use this tent myself as well.

For a solo setup, attaching it between trees is usually the quickest option. If you’re using tarp poles, it takes a little more adjustment: I recommend setting up the two main poles and the guy lines on the same side first, then gradually adjusting the tension and position.

Excellent for the price. Not perfect.

Overall, this is an excellent lightweight hot tent. I'd buy it again.

With a wood stove in it, you could easily sleep 3 people. It would be very spacious for two people and gear. When pitched properly, you can stand up straight if you're 6'0" or shorter. The tent has some great features, like the 3-way zippers, and the mesh windows and doors. It has a couple of loops on the interior of the ridge line for hanging lights. The tent doors can be held open by rolling them up and using the attached toggles.

There are a few minor cons, however. There are not enough stakes and guy lines included to fully guy out the tent, which I think it needs. You'll need 4-6 more stakes and guy lines. The included stakes are fairly robust, but you might want even heavier duty ones for hammering into frozen ground. The stakes do not have loops attached to help you with extracting them, but you could add your own.

I don't like they way you're supposed to pitch the tent according to the instructions. Basically, they tried to make this as easy as possible for people who don't know how to tie any knots, but it is kind of a fiddly and limiting way to pitch the tent. You'll get a better pitch with more flexibility and ease of set up if you can just make our own ridge line with a trucker's hitch and stretch the ridge of the tent using prusik loops - the same way you'd set up a basic A-frame tarp shelter.

The windows are cool, but they could get a bit drafty because there's no way to secure tent wall along the top edge of the window. It leaves a bit of a gap that will seep cold air. I fixed this issue by using a couple of magnets, one on the inside and one on the outside of the tent, to seal the gap at the top of the window better. Some velcro tape would probably work better.

Others have pointed out that the loops for the stakes along the bottom edge of the tent would require you to pierce the snow skirt. While there is a design flaw there, it works fine to just pull the loops out a little further past the skirt and stake them down. You still get a pretty good seal along the ground.

I rather enjoy it very spacious haven't got to set my haven tent up in it yet but i have set up a mattress and other camp essential in it and was pleased with the ventilation it offered. I would think some storage bags inside the shell would add a nice touch other than that im satisfied with the purchase stitching looked well enough the seamseal was well placed in further time such as winter ill give more feedback once i get my stove and hammock set up.

ideal for all seasons

It is made of high quality 210T polyester material, is lightweight weighing under 8 lbs & easy to set up. It can be put up between two trees very easily, just like a hammock. Reminder to open up vents to prevent moisture from building on ceiling and walls. I did not get a chance to try the stove pipe opening, as I don't currently have a proper tent stove

Excellent value, a lot of fun, highly functional

I ordered this Redcamp camp cooking tent and the teepee model at the same time. I put a large Chinese round stove in it and sent the chimney outside through the sidewall. I use our small hot tent stove in the teepee with a straight exhaust chimney. The quality is high and the design dates Way Way back so I am pleased with both. This kitchen tent requires two trees or setting up poles so I can erect it in an open space. Everything is built from the top guy wire which tends to sag. We were able to use a ratchet strap to get it tight and tie rope at the connection points to keep the tent perfectly straight on the top without bunching or swaying. Now I prefer to use tent poles and angles to erected in the open so that it is easier to rearrange the tent to accommodate changes in wind current.

Packs Small and Light!

When this was delivered and I saw the box and picked it up, my first thought was, "Wait. This is that big tent? This? In this little box? This?" I was confused. And happy.Let me tell you - no joke, this packs small. Super happy and impressed about it. Honestly, I haven't had the chance to take it out and break it in, so all I can do is give you my first impression. Quality seems really good. Much better than I would have expected. (This tent is full of surprises, huh?)I did read that you definitely want to use poles for this. I totally agree... I wouldn't want all my height support to be dependant on the couple trees it's attached to. Trees sway, right? Can't wait to also have a stove in there... this is the first tent I have with the stove jack. Nice.Anyway, I can't wait to give this a go. Once I do, I'll try to remember to update this review with whatever good or bad observations I make. In the meantime, 5 stars for first impressions!I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. No AI here... all the poor writing is mine and mine alone! :-P

Awesome, easy to use hothouse tent!

This tent is awesome. Can be put up between two trees very easily, just like a hammock, and has the proper protections for use with a wood fueled heater-box/stove. Great value overall. Super cool and really extends the camping season to year-round! Recommended!

So far, so good.

I've had one chance to take this out and try, and I learned a few things that I'll keep in mind for next time.First off, the tent did exactly as well as expected. The material kept the light rain out and blocked the wind well. The tri-zipper doors are genius, allowing hammock straps to pass through while providing an adequate seal when closed up.I did not get a chance to try the stove pipe opening, as I don't currently have a proper tent stove.Things I learned:BRING TARP POLES!!! I had them with me, but left them up the trail in my truck on accident. Instead of taking the time to go get them, I figured I'd just make due. I learned that I'm not tall enough to pitch this tent just using the tie-out loops to reach full height. This meant the peak was lower than it could have been, the walls sagged, and I had to stoop my neck when standing. I made it work, but I'll never pitch it without poles again. They would have made it so much nicer. The instructions mention using them, and I strongly recommend you do.I really liked not having a floor. There was no worry about tracking in anything and I didn't have to leave my shoes outside to avoid this. Would this do well in a downpour with water flowing under the walls? Likely not. Things may get wet. But you'd have the same problem if you were just doing a hammock/rainfly setup too, so that's not a negative in my book. Elevate your gear. One thing that confused me was how the bottom was supposed to be staked out. The corners were easy enough, since each snow skirt flap separated at the corners. But the long ends were one solid piece, but the stake out point was directly above it. You could do a short piece of cordage to stake it further out, but that didn't seem intuitive.I'll need to review the instructions again to see if I misunderstood something. It was very big and I had plenty of room for all of my gear, hammock, and camping chair. You could easily have two people in this tent if both were in cots or on the ground, or one was in a hammock and one was not. Still plenty of room for equipment.I need a few more outings for a final assessment, but I like it so far.

Sturdy and Spacious Winter Tent with Smart Features

The REDCAMP Large Hammock Hot Tent delivers excellent protection against the elements. Its waterproof and windproof design, combined with the snow skirt, makes it ideal for harsh winter conditions. The stove jack is a fantastic addition for staying warm, and the tent is spacious enough for comfortable camping. Despite its size, it remains surprisingly lightweight, which is great for backpacking trips. However, setup can be tricky for one person, and the lack of clear instructions is a drawback. Overall, it’s a solid choice for serious outdoor enthusiasts.

Fantastic Lightweight Tent

The REDCAMP Large Hammock Hot Tent is an absolute game-changer for camping enthusiasts! From its spacious interior to its all-weather versatility, this tent has exceeded my expectations in every way.First, the size—this tent is roomy enough for a small family or a group of friends. Whether you're stretching out after a long hike or setting up a cozy spot for a winter getaway, there’s plenty of space to move and sleep comfortably. The high-quality 210T polyester material really stands out, providing excellent waterproofing and wind resistance. I camped through a rainstorm, and not a single drop got through. The snow skirts are a lifesaver in cold weather, and the ventilation options with mesh doors and windows make it perfect for hot summer trips too.The stove jack feature is brilliant for winter camping. Pairing this with a hammock setup made for the coziest outdoor experience I’ve ever had. Plus, the 3-zipper door design? Genius. Getting in and out is hassle-free, even with a loaded backpack.Weighing under 8 lbs, it’s shockingly portable for such a robust tent. Setup was a breeze, though you’ll need to bring your own tarp pole. That’s a small trade-off for the comfort and durability you get.If you’re serious about camping in all seasons, this tent is worth every penny. Warm in the winter, breezy in the summer, and spacious enough for everything in between. Highly recommended!
