Excellent for the price. Not perfect.

Overall, this is an excellent lightweight hot tent. I'd buy it again.

With a wood stove in it, you could easily sleep 3 people. It would be very spacious for two people and gear. When pitched properly, you can stand up straight if you're 6'0" or shorter. The tent has some great features, like the 3-way zippers, and the mesh windows and doors. It has a couple of loops on the interior of the ridge line for hanging lights. The tent doors can be held open by rolling them up and using the attached toggles.

There are a few minor cons, however. There are not enough stakes and guy lines included to fully guy out the tent, which I think it needs. You'll need 4-6 more stakes and guy lines. The included stakes are fairly robust, but you might want even heavier duty ones for hammering into frozen ground. The stakes do not have loops attached to help you with extracting them, but you could add your own.

I don't like they way you're supposed to pitch the tent according to the instructions. Basically, they tried to make this as easy as possible for people who don't know how to tie any knots, but it is kind of a fiddly and limiting way to pitch the tent. You'll get a better pitch with more flexibility and ease of set up if you can just make our own ridge line with a trucker's hitch and stretch the ridge of the tent using prusik loops - the same way you'd set up a basic A-frame tarp shelter.

The windows are cool, but they could get a bit drafty because there's no way to secure tent wall along the top edge of the window. It leaves a bit of a gap that will seep cold air. I fixed this issue by using a couple of magnets, one on the inside and one on the outside of the tent, to seal the gap at the top of the window better. Some velcro tape would probably work better.

Others have pointed out that the loops for the stakes along the bottom edge of the tent would require you to pierce the snow skirt. While there is a design flaw there, it works fine to just pull the loops out a little further past the skirt and stake them down. You still get a pretty good seal along the ground.

I rather enjoy it very spacious haven't got to set my haven tent up in it yet but i have set up a mattress and other camp essential in it and was pleased with the ventilation it offered. I would think some storage bags inside the shell would add a nice touch other than that im satisfied with the purchase stitching looked well enough the seamseal was well placed in further time such as winter ill give more feedback once i get my stove and hammock set up.

ideal for all seasons

It is made of high quality 210T polyester material, is lightweight weighing under 8 lbs & easy to set up. It can be put up between two trees very easily, just like a hammock. Reminder to open up vents to prevent moisture from building on ceiling and walls. I did not get a chance to try the stove pipe opening, as I don't currently have a proper tent stove

Excellent value, a lot of fun, highly functional

I ordered this Redcamp camp cooking tent and the teepee model at the same time. I put a large Chinese round stove in it and sent the chimney outside through the sidewall. I use our small hot tent stove in the teepee with a straight exhaust chimney. The quality is high and the design dates Way Way back so I am pleased with both. This kitchen tent requires two trees or setting up poles so I can erect it in an open space. Everything is built from the top guy wire which tends to sag. We were able to use a ratchet strap to get it tight and tie rope at the connection points to keep the tent perfectly straight on the top without bunching or swaying. Now I prefer to use tent poles and angles to erected in the open so that it is easier to rearrange the tent to accommodate changes in wind current.

Packs Small and Light!

When this was delivered and I saw the box and picked it up, my first thought was, "Wait. This is that big tent? This? In this little box? This?" I was confused. And happy.Let me tell you - no joke, this packs small. Super happy and impressed about it. Honestly, I haven't had the chance to take it out and break it in, so all I can do is give you my first impression. Quality seems really good. Much better than I would have expected. (This tent is full of surprises, huh?)I did read that you definitely want to use poles for this. I totally agree... I wouldn't want all my height support to be dependant on the couple trees it's attached to. Trees sway, right?Can't wait to also have a stove in there... this is the first tent I have with the stove jack. Nice.Anyway, I can't wait to give this a go. Once I do, I'll try to remember to update this review with whatever good or bad observations I make. In the meantime, 5 stars for first impressions!I hope you liked my review.
