Holy mother Teresa, twice removed. This is one of those purchases that you make and then overthink everything.
I was looking for a 2 person cot for a huge campout coming up. I was torn between this and their competition *cough Coleman*. I'm a Coleman gal through and through, until now. While the Coleman double person cot comes with a blow up mattress, it just looked so ... Bulky. I knew my sister had one long ago, so I contacted her. She said that while the cot was durable, the air mattress hurt her back. While this companies cot does come with a little cushion, I'm like, the princess and the pea. I added you the cost with this cot and Amazon's #1 best selling camping mattress (a LOT thinner and more durable than a blow up mattress) and the price STILL best out Coleman's 2 person blow up mattress. Ladies, you KNOW what that means. I had extra money to purchase bedding in a box. Guess what? Even with buying the cot, mattress, breeding, it was still less expensive than if I would have bought their competition. New money people will brag about how much they spend. People who come from old money, will brag about how much they saved.
Okay next up, onto the product itself. It was super easy to assemble ONCE I figured out how to. Lol. The cot wouldn't drop down and I made a joke "How am I supposed to sleep on that?". I'm always afraid of something new breaking (it's how things are built these day's). My DH (dear husband) told me to use my muskles (muscles). It popped and locked down. We zipped them together, laid down on the cot. We even moved around a lot to see how it felt as we move around in our sleep. If we just had the cot itself, I could see an issue with having a middle bar. BUT is that an actual issue or blessing in disguise? Yes, women DO steal the covers, but men, own the fact you assume 99% of the bed belongs to you.
With the small air mattress on top, you can't feel the bar and it's easier to snuggle.
Now I DO have an issue with ONE thing. WHY is there only one side pouch? What does my husband need a side pouch for? I need one for a flashlight, along with rocks (don't you judge me), phone, chapstick, hand lotion etc. Just because I'm glamping where there's no electricity or running water, it's still important to take care of your skin. Statically speaking, women get up more at night than men do to go to the bathroom. If anyone reading this thinks "Just switch sides", shut up. LOL. It's taken me 20 *mumbles* something years to stand my ground on what side of the bed is MINE.
Redcamp, thank me later for this. I'm saving a lot of marriages and fights. Gimme a kickback later with a thank you note. Haha
Onto the company itself. You can find the best product out there, but if their companies service sucks, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Statically speaking, people will give more negative reviews than positive. When you have a positive experience you tell a couple of people. When you have a negative experience, you call everyone. Your mother, your neighbors, your mailman, even your cat (she seems to understand). This is my 3rd time trying to make this review as I have ADHD and kept getting sidetracked, so there's something big in that statement alone.
If you couldn't tell by now from reading, I have anxiety. Not just any anxiety, it's an actual disorder. When I placed the order last weekend, it said it would get here in time. I reached out to the seller as I was thinking "I made a big mistake. It won't get here in time, I'll end up sleeping on a tiny air mattress and wake up too low to the ground .. this is going to suck!". I didn't say all of this to the seller. They reached back out to me faster than 24 hrs and reassured me, it'll be here. I was glued to watching it move though UPS, like a die hard football fan watching the Superbowl. If anyone has ever watched My Fair Lady, you'll understand when I was saying "Come on Dover, move your bloody tuchus" (changed it to Yiddish to keep it clean).
I'd say "Long story short", but I'm Irish and let's be honest, that never happens.
Am I a happy camper? I most definitely will be. Am I happy with the product itself? Sure am, EXCEPT for the side pocket (go work on that. Haha). Is this product durable? Yes. It feels like this will last a very long time.
Is this company legit? Hot Rod says "It's too legit to quit". Was the shipping fast? It made it through two states in one night, which blew my simple human mind.
Is this affordable compared to their competition? Trust me, I spent not just hours, but DAYS comparing this two person cot to every other brand out there. While some call my anxiety a disorder, it always works in my favor when it comes to really doing my research before purchasing anything.
Will I order more from this company again? Most hootin- tootin I will. I'm happier than a bird with a French fry.
